[When the glass clears from Dipper's eyes, he sort of wants to hide from the entire world and never speak to anyone ever again as he slowly dies from embarrassment.
Unfortunately, that's sort of hard to do when you share your bedroom with your sister. Yeah, he could technically go find another room or keep hanging out in the caves like he was doing towards the end of the event, but that would feel even weirder. And now that the glass is out of his eyes, the anger that was keeping him from talking to her seems dumb and fighting with Mabel always makes him feel awful.
So he heads back to their room, but not before stopping at a closet to grab a peace offering. He knocks on the door, hoping she's in there. He lost track of her during the event, so he's not sure anymore.]
Hey, Mabel? [Dipper is sitting with a book in his lap, though he hasn't turned the page in a while.] Valentine's Day probably doesn't exist in Westeros, right? Do you think I have to do something for it?
[So, Henry has this pink scrapbook with all kinds of pretty pastel like spring pages and also a hugeamount of Valentine's Day stickers. He also has a box of chocolate, but not heart shaped because that seemed like toomuch? Yes. definitely too much. But it's a box full of chocolate, and a note that reads:
Dear Mabel,
I know I haven't really said anything, but I think you're pretty perfect, and really nice, and I think this is probably the time of year that's great for saying all of that. Because hey, no matter what, there's chocolate.
Anyway, I think it'd be pretty great if you'd be my Valentine. But only if you want to. I hope you really like everything!
- Henry
And then he knocks and leaves because if she doesn't like it all, he's not really sure how to deal with that after the whole Violet thing. HE'S NOT LEARNED HOW TO DEAL WITH REJECTION other than by crying, and he'd be mortified if he did that in front of her so instead he kind of...just...hopes for the best back in his room.]
[Dipper's been acting strange. Between the fact that he's holding about eight text conversations at once and how he's been flipping through the Journal with a certain vigor he hasn't needed since it became clear there was nothing in it to help with Wonderland. Finally, he takes one of Mabel's golf clubs, swinging it thoughtfully, and brings it over to his side of the room. Just in case.]
[They found a stack of cards written a long time ago. A month ago, they think. There's a post-it note stuck to the top, cheerfully proclaiming - "for Thanksgiving!"
They suppose they should hand them out. There's a...a twinge of something when they look at the topmost one. The one that should go to the bed beside them. The empty bed. Their SOUL starts to...ache.
They swallow. They swallow very, very hard. Screw their eyes shut, blink rapidly. Something's off. Something's different.
They feel...empty. Not empty like they have before.
Worse empty.
They have to make it go away. So they make it go away the only way they can think of. They hand the notes out. Maybe if they do that, it'll go away, and they can feel nothing again. Go back to feeling nothing at all.
So soon Dipper and Mabel will discover two cards slid beneath the door to their room. One is labeled "DIPPER" and the other "MABEL."
On the outside of Mabel's:]
[And within:]
"Dear Mabel,
I hope you don't mind it if I think you guys are family. I've never had a family like this before! It's really big, and I'm glad I met you guys. You're really nice, and you've helped me and Chara so much.
I hope you know that we'll always be there if you need it.
[Mabel, Mabel had been easy. They made her a sweater, and done their best to get her size right. There's no note to indicate who might have left the gift at all, unlike there was on Thanksgiving. But that's for the best. Frisk needs to disappear, and it won't matter if she never figures it out.
The sweater itself is made from a sparkling, tinsel-like yarn. Mabel likes sparkling things, and the yarn had reminded Frisk of a star-studded night sky.
In the center is stitched a green heart. Green for kindness.
[ Merry Christmas! Or late Christmas, because Dustin pretty much slept through it. After a rather jarringly loud fist-pounding knock on Mabel’s door, she’ll find a stocking left on the ground. If she's quick enough to answer he can probably recognize curls and a favourite hat turning the corner. The stocking is jammed full of things, including:
1. Air Heads (assorted flavours, but more watermelon because those are the best) 2. A small container with only banana flavoured runts 3. Gummy bears (sour and regular) 4. Bubble tape 5. Caramello 6. Nilla wafers 7. Chupa chups 8. Cow tales 9. Gummy cola 10. Nerds 11. Skittles 12. Sour patch kids 13. Fun Dip 14. Pop Rocks
And lastly, just for her: 15. An entire drum of rocky road candy with gummy worms in it. Don’t ask how he got it up the stairs, please.
Propped up is a Christmas card, homemade with probably the worst handwriting known to man: 'Merry Christmas. -Dustin' ]
[ Now that he remembers Wonderland, there's something he has to do. ]
Hey, Mabel. I wanted to let you know I remember, now. And I know this really sucks that I grew up. But we can still hang out and you're definitely always going to be awesome.
I'm sorry Wonderland sent me home for so long I got old.
[ Henry may or may not feel really guilty even now about the whole...age thing. So, he decides to try and ease the guilt by giving her a ton of Christmas presents which includes:
ACTION LIKE A REBEL
You'll never guess who I was just talking to. [A beat. He looks over at her.] ...no, you really won't.
